With more courtrooms being equipped with Internet access, computer technology, and sound and video systems, more lawyers need the ability to use electronics in the courtroom. The growth of e-commerce is another development that has created unique issues for law firms, affecting intellectual property, contract formation, choice of law, privacy and security. Many legal services may change radically as digital signatures become legally accepted. The change will allow many transactions that now can occur only in person to be conducted by computer.
